Lifting and rigging work carries zero margin for error — a single weak link, worn strap, or mismatched fitting can mean serious injury, damaged goods, or worse. That’s why choosing the right lifting equipment, from a properly rated sling to the smallest shackle, matters just as much as the crane or hoist doing the actual lifting.
At Jamali Tools, we supply a complete range of lifting and rigging equipment for workshops, construction sites, warehouses, and industrial operations across Bangladesh. Here’s what we offer and where each piece fits into a safe lifting setup.
Lifting Belts (Slings)
Lifting belts, also called web slings, are flexible, flat straps used to cradle and lift loads without the sharp edges or surface damage that chain can sometimes cause on delicate or finished materials.
Ideal for lifting finished goods, machinery with sensitive surfaces, and general warehouse loads
Available in different widths and rated capacities to match your load
Lighter and easier to handle than chain, but should be regularly inspected for cuts, fraying, or UV damage before each use
Hooks
The connection point between your lifting equipment and the load itself. A hook is only as strong as its weakest point, so we stock hooks rated and certified for the loads they’re built to carry.
Choose a hook with a safety latch to prevent accidental slippage of the load
Always match hook capacity to the rated capacity of the chain or sling it’s paired with — never assume, always check the markings
Inspect regularly for any bending, cracking, or throat opening beyond the manufacturer’s tolerance — a deformed hook should be replaced immediately, not reused
Chain Hoists (Manual and Electric)
Chain hoists let you lift heavy loads with mechanical advantage — either by hand chain (manual) or motor-driven (electric).
Manual chain hoists are ideal for occasional lifting, sites without reliable power, and budget-conscious operations
Electric chain hoists suit high-frequency lifting in factories and production lines, saving significant time and labor over a full workday
We stock a range of capacities to match everything from light workshop lifting to heavy industrial loads
Wire Rope Hoists
For heavier loads and longer lifting heights than a standard chain hoist can efficiently handle, wire rope hoists offer higher capacity and smoother operation, commonly used in larger industrial and construction lifting setups.
Better suited to continuous, heavy-duty operation than chain hoists at the higher end of the capacity range
Requires regular inspection of the wire rope for broken strands, kinks, or corrosion, which can significantly weaken lifting capacity over time
Turnbuckles
Used to adjust tension and length in rigging and cable systems, turnbuckles are essential wherever precise tensioning is needed — securing loads, tensioning guy wires, or fine-tuning rigging setups before a lift.
Available in different thread types and load ratings to match your rigging application
Always used within its rated working load limit, never as a load-bearing lifting point beyond its design capacity
Grade 80 Chain
Grade 80 alloy steel chain is the industry standard for overhead lifting due to its higher strength-to-weight ratio compared to lower-grade chain.
Suitable for slinging, hoisting, and general lifting applications where safety and load rating are critical
Always check for the grade stamp on the chain link — using ungraded or unbranded chain for overhead lifting is a serious safety risk
Regularly inspected for stretching, wear at contact points, and any deformed links before continued use
Rigging Fittings
Beyond the core equipment, a safe and reliable lift depends on the smaller fittings that tie everything together, including:
Shackles — connecting chain, wire rope, or slings to a load or lifting point
Eye bolts and swivel hoist rings — providing secure, rated attachment points on the load itself
Master links — joining multiple chain or sling legs to a single hook connection
Wire rope clips and thimbles — for terminating and securing wire rope ends correctly
Every fitting in a rigging setup needs to be rated for the same working load as the rest of the system — a rigging chain is only as strong as its weakest fitting.
Safety Guidelines for Lifting and Rigging Work
- Always confirm the Safe Working Load (SWL) of every component in the system, and never exceed the lowest-rated part.
- Inspect all lifting equipment — belts, chains, hooks, wire rope, and fittings — before every use, not just periodically.
- Never use damaged, corroded, or unmarked equipment for overhead lifting, regardless of how minor the damage looks.
- Keep the load centered and avoid side-loading hooks, shackles, or slings, which reduces their rated capacity significantly.
- Never stand or work underneath a suspended load.
- Store lifting equipment properly — chain and wire rope should be kept dry and free of kinks; slings should be hung, not left folded or crushed under other equipment.
